Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Three days after tiger Sultan from Gorewada Wildlife Rescue Centre left for Borivali National Park in Mumbai, another tiger from Tadoba entered the rescue centre. At 6.30 pm on Friday, a team of Chandrapur Transit Treatment Centre reached Gorewada with a nine-month-old cub.

A few months ago, a tiger cub separated from his mother in Tadoba was found by the forest staff in a dying state. With no imme-diate treatment, the cub’s chances of survival were minimum. The forest department team rescued the cub and took him to the Transit Treatment Centre in Chandrapur for treatment. The cub’s life was saved due to the tire-less efforts of the veterinarians in the transit centre there.

Now this 9-month-old cub became completely healthy, but the problem of giving him a permanent house haunted the forest department .With no experience of liv-ing in the forest, it became difficult to release him in the forest area. So a meeting of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Committee on Tiger was called a few days ago.

A member suggested send-ing the cub to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali, but other members objected to the idea. Yet other members suggested keeping the cub in Gorewada Maharajbagh Zoo as well.

Meanwhile, the tiger ‘Sultan’ has been dis-patched from Gorewada Rescue Centre to Borivali Park for breeding task. After which the tiger cub of Tadoba was given an entry in Gorewada on Friday. Nandkishore Kale, divisional administrator of Gorewada project con-firmed the arrival of the tiger cub.

On the other hand, Maharajbagh Zoo is also looking for a male tiger for its only tigress ‘Jean’. According to the rules of the Central Zoo Authority, a male tiger is required along with a tigress in the zoo For this, efforts are being made by the zoo management to bring the male tiger.

The Maharajbagh management has also sent a letter to the principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife) office. managing director of forest development corporation Maharashtra zoo authority and nagpur deputy conservator’s office, demanding the tiger. The Maharajbagh manage-ment had demanded the tiger cub of Tadoba. But Maharajbagh Zoo has not got any positive response to the letter from any office.

NCP’s Ajit Pawar is Deputy CM again, Aditya Thackeray also gets berth

Nagpur/Mumbai: NCP’s Katol MLA Anil Deshmukh and Saoner MLA Suni Kedar of Congress were among 36 ministers inducted in the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA Government. Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister — more than a month after he had sided with the BJP and was sworn-in as the Deputy of Devendra Fadnavis.

Total thirty six ministers were inducted in the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra cabinet on Monday. The ministers who took oath today include Uddhav’s 29-year-old son, Aaditya Thackeray. The Congress left out former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan but included another of its former CM Ashok Chavan in the list.

With amazing feats, ISRO’s space program stands strong

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur: At the doorstep of 2020, India’s space program stands strong with all its might & excellence. With aspiration to make it a super power, India’s space research during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received accolades from countries across the globe.

Since it’s inception in the year 1969, ISRO has significantly evolved and has entered into the elite global space club, riding on the extensive scientific research. Yet, it has not attained the same level of popularity as that of NASA or the Roscosmos.

Any guessings why?
Everytime it came to finances, the government always had to justify why spending would be allotted to ISRO versus those in poverty. ISRO has always kept its focus point on missions that were developmental in nature. ISRO has been one of the most cost effective members of the effective space industries on this planet. But it’s high time now that we as Indians know the real capacity, significance and importance of space research from our own country’s perspective.

Marketing plays a quintessential role in taking the work of ISRO to the last man standing of our country. When NASA was founded, the US space research was determined with the sole purpose of making it stand differently from the USSR. An aggressive public interaction campaign was designed to connect the citizens of US with the free flowing mechanism of information between the two to keep the citizens well-informed about each and every development in US space research.

Working on similar lines, the NDA Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has come out extensively express heaps and bounds to share India’s achievements in the field of space research. He has made the most of his communication model to reach out to the citizens time & over. Be it the entry of Mangalyaan in Mars or the launch of Chandrayaan-II mission, Modi made sure he had his words heard by the entire country. Political parties have been critical of the PM’s speeches on scientific achievements asking him, not to seek the credit for scientific research done by our scientists. But he never shied away from using his oratory skills to connect with the citizens on various occasions to showcase India’s might in the field of Space Research. India has also joined hands with global nations to explore new avenues of space research.

Even the ISRO has shifted its focus to connect the youths now and engage them with India’s upcoming space research programs. The soon-to-come new year 2020 is expected to witness ISRO rolling out new innovative programs to connect itself with the 130 crore Indians across the country.

Total 32 dome-shaped food stalls will be allotted to vendors through “Lucky Draw”

Nagpur: Finally, after a wait for years, the Khau Galli scheme of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to see sunlight. The diehard foodies in Nagpur City could now hope for cherishing mouth-watering delicacies as the Khau Galli — a food and recreational street — along Gandhi Sagar Lake is set to welcome customers from January 5, 2020. NMC has constructed total 32 dome-shaped stalls at Khau Galli but it has received 72 applications from vendors. Hence to sort of the problem, NMC has decided to allot the stall through “Lucky Draw.” The Khau Galli has been set up on the lines of Indore’s Khau Galli.

The civic body had flaoted tenders for Khau Galli. Accordingly, the vendors will have to pay Rs 5000 rent per month and Rs 5000 as security deposit. As the plan was gathering dust, the infrastructure created for the Khau Galli was crumbling and the place wore a deserted and eerie look.

In view of the Khau Galli would draw a huge crowd, NMC is making parking facility at one side of Gandhisagar Lake. Recently, the Mayor Sandeep Joshi had inspected the site and directed civic officials to carry out necessary repairs and flooring. Subsequently, after a review of works by Standing Committee Chairman Pradeep Pohane and Water Works Committee Chairman Pintu Jhalke, the Mayor directed officials to Khau Galli readied for opening from January 5, 2020.

The Mayor was flooded with complaints and queries about ‘Khau Galli’ during his “Walk and Talk with Mayor” programme with people. The citizens had pointed out that despite building such a beautiful place, the same was never dedicated to public which is sheer waste of public money. Taking cognisance, Joshi took a tour of the spot and made inquiries with concerned officials. Mayor directed officials to issue short tender and get necessary repairs and flooring works done within a week.

Once started, Khau Galli is likely to serve mouth-watering delicacies such as paav bhaji, ice-cream, Chinese stuff, juices, kulfis, chaat and more to the visitor.

Finally, NMC’s Khau Galli at Gandhisagar Lake to start from Jan 5
