Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation administration, fuming over agitation launched by NMC contractors for release of their pending dues, on Monday issued a fatwa and snatched the chamber and office space allotted to NMC Contractors Welfare Association. After the unsuccessful attempts to end the agitation launched by contractors a fortnight ago, the red-faced NMC administration deprived the contractors the office space in the Civil Lines office of the civic body.

It may be recalled the ruling party had enthusiastically participated in election of NMC Contractors Welfare Association a few years ago and ensured election of their ‘favourite’ group. All was well and managing the affairs conveniently. Things turned bad when the dues of contractors were not cleared since months. Situation turned worse the matter was raised by Opposition in Assembly during Monsoon Session. Congress MLA Sunil Kedar spoke for 30 minutes and devoted 25 minutes for exposing mess in NMC.

Now, the 15-day agitation of contractors has dented the image of NMC. An office-bearer of Contractors Association had hinted that the NMC administration might snatch the Association’s chamber as fallout of the stir. It came true when the administration on Monday directed the NMC Contractors Association to vacate the chamber forthwith. The office space has been allotted to Garden Department. The space will now be the office of Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer of Garden Department.

Two-thirds majority needed in Parlt for Ram Temple

Nagpur: Amid the bitter feud and ongoing war of words between BJP and Shiv Sena, the President of State BJP Raosaheb Danve has expressed hope that both the parties would fight the next elections together.

Interacting with media persons in Nagpur, Danve said his party wished both parties contested the next polls in alliance. “The tie-up will be based on the formula hammered out by Shiv Sena supremo late Balasaheb Thackeray and late Pramod Mahajan. The party winning more seats would have the role of big brother. BJP ‘majbut hai, majboor nahi’ (BJP is strong, not helpless). We had not dumped the alliance during last Assembly elections. The party and people think that BJP and Sena should stay together,” the BJP leader said.

Danve these days is touring across the state and assessing the political situation parliamentary constituencies wise. On Monday, Danve reviewed the Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency. The seat is with Shiv Sena in alliance. To a question whether BJP is strengthening itself at Sena strongholds, Danve said, “The seats BJP fights and the seats the party not contests are becoming stronger for BJP. Cabinet expansion is on cards but no time has been fixed.

The party has geared for next elections. The Organising Secretary Vijay Puranik is undertaking tours across the state. He will visit all 48 Lok Sabha seats. Puranik gauged the mood in Ramtek and Amravati constituencies on Monday. The party has appointed booth managers in all 288 Assembly seats. There are 92,000 booths out of which 87,000 booth managers are being appointed. A War Room is monitoring the ongoing works on booths,” he said.

Two-thirds majority needed in Parlt for Ram Mandir:
Danve said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had recently demanded ordinance for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. “Ram Temple issue is constitutional one. For a law on the issue the government needed two-thirds majority,” he stressed.

Lok Sabha, Assembly polls not simultaneously:
According to Danve, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will not be held simultaneously. The current government in state will complete its full term. He dismissed the speculations that both the elections will be held simultaneously in state.

Mansar Toll Post to be shifted to Khavasa border

Nagpur: Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Monday said that problems regarding roads in city and across the state would be resolved soon. A decision on completing several half finished road projects has been arrived at after meeting Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi.

Bawankule was speaking at a press conference held at Maharashtra Bhavan in national capital.

“A meeting with Gadkari was held at Parivahan Bhavan on Monday. The meeting reviewed the road projects in the state. The meeting was attended by Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut, MLA Mallikarjun Reddy, BJP Leader Vikas Totade, and officials,’ Bawankule said.

Mansar Toll Post:

It was decided that the Mansar Toll Post should be excluded from Nagpur Metro Region Development Authority (NMRDA). This toll post will now be shifted to Khavasa border. The move will extend a great relief to devotees visiting Ramtek as well as farmers. Similarly, the Patansawangi Toll Post will be shifted to Betul, Bawankule said.

Mahalaxmi Mandir Koradi:
The meeting pondered over problem of accidents taking place at Koradi Mahalaxmi Temple area. Taking serious view, Gadkari directed the officials to initiate adequate measures at accident spots. Similarly, marking of the accident spots on Nagpur-Saoner-Chhindwara National Highway should be done at the earliest. “A flyover will be constructed at the spot to lessen accidents,” the meeting decided.

National Highway till Zero Mile:
Several National Highways such as Nagpur-Bhandara, Nagpur-Katol-Saoner, Dhapewada-Ramtek-Tumsar pass through Nagpur. Therefore, along these National Highways the other National Highways that pass through other cities of the state should be extended till the centrally located part (Zero Mile) of the cities. Currently, National Highways are being built till the limits of cities and further work was being carried out by civic bodies. But now, the National Highways should be constructed till the central part of the city, Gadkari asked the officials.

Nagpur to have independent unit for emergency medical treatment, Docs to get iPads

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur:Maharashtra’s Medical Education Department has decided to come up with independent unit at Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in Maharashtra for treating patients approaching hospital for want of immediate attention. This unit would be called EMS (Emergency Medical Service). It will be run on pilot basis at five cities in the State – Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad and Dhule.

Elaborating on this issue, Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan informed local daily that, “There is a staff of 540 belonging to Public Health Department. Most of them do not have work assigned from both the departments- Medical Education and Public Health. So, we will give them work of handling EMS. The EMS will have separate wards, separate Intensive Care Unit (ICU), separate diagnostic facilities in the unit itself. This EMS will take care of the patients who need emergency attention. It will be run on pilot basis. If we succeed then it will be extended to other city GMCs too.”

Action on HIMS, to be replaced
Mahajan is aware about HIMS’s connection with OPD registration so he had given the work of checking HIMS’s feasibility to Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The TISS expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of HIMS. There are huge losses due to HIMS that swallowed up a lot of money. The investigation is underway and present Government is likely to take action against HIMS. “We will be re-tendering the work. It will be handed over to the agency selected by our panel. We will streamline the system so that neither patients nor our staff suffers,” stated firm Mahajan.

Coupon system to be introduced
A coupon system will be brought where people would pay the money and get the coupon with a number on it. The person could sit on the chair arranged near the OPD registration counter. The number of the patient written on his or her coupon would be displayed on the digital board and patient would collect the card that would direct him or her towards the respective department.

Docs to get iPads
Medical Education Ministry is thinking of replacing HIMS and to introduce much faster system. The manual system can not be brought back howsoever good was it. But the new system should provide faster results that is the only concern. The new system will run through optic fibre. Secondly, senior doctors would be given I-pad so that they would be available for the advice to their juniors. The sub-ordinates would send the reports to seniors even during night hours who would guide from home.

Committee formed for decentralising OPD registration
Minister has constituted a committee that would give recommendations for the decentralisation of Outpatient Department (OPD) in Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in Maharashtra.

The centralised system of registration is time taking and added to the woes of patients or their relatives as they have to stand in queue for more than two hours.
Girish Mahajan told ‘The Hitavada’, “It makes me very painful that patients who all the way travel from far away town to any GMC and have to stand in queue. I immediately called on senior officials and took the decision of constituting committee. The committee is expected to submit the report suggesting the measures for decentralising the OPD registration.”

There is an inter-connection between OPD registration and Hospital Integrated Management Service (HIMS). The HIMS is also the factor that makes people stand in queue for longer time.

About 10 years ago, Maharashtra Government had introduced HIMS in all the hospitals and brought all the registration system on computer. Earlier everything was being done manually and it was much faster. The daily OPD is average 3,000 in any GMC in State. The number is inclusive of patients coming to Medicine department, Psychiatric department, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, Skin, TB, Paediatric etc. If the separations of OPD registrations of all the departments is made then the burden would get lowered.

Nagpur: The Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Arun Kumar has demanded the government to pave way for construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya at the earliest.

Speaking to Nagpur Today on phone, Arun Kumar said, “Facts and available evidences have conclusively proved that a temple existed at the place. The temple was demolished and a structure was erected in its place.

The Allahabad High Court had, in its verdict, admitted that the place was birthplace of Lord Ram. The RSS is of the view that Ram Temple must be constructed at the Janmabhoomi and the place should be given to Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas. The construction of the temple will create a harmonious atmosphere. Taking this into account, the Supreme Court should take a decision at the earliest,” the Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS said.

“However, if any obstacle comes, the government must bring a legislation to pave the way for the temple,” Arun Kumar told Nagpur Today.

“We have supported the movement the day it was launched by saints and Dharma Sansad. We would also support any decision they take for construction of Ram Temple,” Arun Kumar said.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Some shows become popular, a few others attain cult status, but very rarely does a show become an institution in itself.Season after season, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has not only reinvented itself but brought the entire nation together to celebrate pure, unadulterated singing. After the raging success of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs last year, Zee TV is back with an exciting new season of its most iconic singing reality show. With the core thought of music for all – #MusicSeBaneHum, the new season celebrates music as the one universal language that unites mankind and propels it towards growth. Sending out a strong message of all-inclusiveness and standing up against discrimination over caste, creed, colour, community, religion and sexuality, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa focuses its spotlight on talent alone. This philosophy of the show is brought alive through its catchy, clutter-breaking jingle ‘HaregaHarega’ that declares discrimination to be the prerogative of losers and music as the only winning proposition that looks beyond these trappings and recognizes true talent. In that sense, former Mr Gay World participant and the flag-bearer of the LGBTQ community Sushant Divgikar, as the first openly gay contestant on a mainstream singing reality show watched by millions at home across India, is the finest embodiment of the show’s core proposition and spirit. Produced by Essel Vision, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa premiered on 13th October and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM only on Zee TV. To promote the show, Sushant visited Nagpur today.

Guiding and grooming the young talents in their journey to become India’s musical doyens are three supremely talented mentors who have been instrumental in taking Bollywood music to unforeseen heights. Sona Mohapatra makes her judging debut with this season alongside Sa Re Ga Ma Pa veterans – the widely popular singer-composer Wajid Khan and the charismatic singer-composer-actor ShekharRavjiani. Along with the mentors, an esteemed panel of 15 music connoisseurs- experts from the music fraternity, play the role of the jury and assess the aspiring singers right from the audition stage and help mentors in selecting only the best. Returning as the host for this season is the young and dynamic singing heart-throb Aditya Narayan who never fails to charm the audiences with his wit and easygoing camaraderie with the mentors.

Sushant Divgikar said, “I am very excited to be part of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and I couldn’t think of a platform as revered as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa to showcase my singing talent and bring drag as a performing art into the mainstream through my alter ego Rani-Ko-HE-Nur. There hasn’t been a gay contestant on a singing reality show on national television before me because it hasn’t been introduced in mainstream entertainment. With the help of Sushant’s voice, I aspire to put Rani in the forefront. I have realized that music makes me happy and I feel no shame in admitting that I sing for applause. Winning the show is secondary, all I want to win is people’s hearts with my talent. It’s normal to have preconceived notions about a certain section of people, but one can change minds with talent. I have visited Nagpur in the past and I am really excited to be back in the city and introduce everyone to Rani-Ko-HE-Nur today. Whilst in the city, I am looking forward to tasting the signature TarriPoha and some yummy Santra Barfi.”

The past few episodes of the show saw an array of supremely talented singers raising the bar of entertainment with their talent. Divgikar as Rani Ko-HE-Nur fascinated everyone as he switched between male and female voices. Former Sa Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs contestant Sahil Solanki returned to the stage to accomplish his dream of becoming a singing superstar. The honey-voiced Mandakini from Manipur proved that being visually impaired cannot put a full stop to her dreams and that her voice is the true representation of her identity. A nurse by profession but singer by choice, contestant Christina aims to make a mark for herself and enjoys singing for her patients. Loyal fans and viewers of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa will be in for a melodious treat as the contestants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa weave a magical with their golden voices.

Join us on the musical joyride Sa Re Ga Ma Pa every Saturday-Sunday, only on Zee TV.

However, the driver, instead of stopping, tried to run over the truck on Tehsildar Kadam and Nayab Tehsildar Shinde. Shinde saved his life by jumping other side of road. However, as the tipper truck had slowed down, Tehsildar managed to hang on to the vehicle by stepping on its footrest. Meanwhile, the truck driver accelerated and increased speed of truck. The speeding truck made it impossible for Kadam to jump from the footrest. When the truck slowed down near Uti Shivar (Bhivapur Tehsil), Kadam jumped and saved himself from the life threatening ordeal.

Despite crackdowns by district administration and police department, the sand mafia continues to indulge in illegal acts.

The role of the outlaws is so much deep-rooted that to whatever extent the district administration may go to curb them, it will be a difficult task to do. Cops booked several members of sand mafia under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in an attempt to end a bloody rivalry between sand mafia.
