He echoed the sentiments of the dignitaries on the dais and people in the audience at a programme organised on Saturday by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) city and district units to pay tributes to ‘Bharat Ratna’ Atal Behari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India, who passed away recently.

Fadnavis was speaking at the programme held at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Sanskrutik Sabhagruh in Reshimbag here. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways; Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of district; Nanda Jichkar, Mayor; Dr Vikas Mahatme, Rajya Sabha Member; Nisha Sawarkar, President of Zilla Parishad; Ajay Sancheti, former Member of Parliament; legislators Sudhakar Kohale, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Dr Milind Mane, Girish Vyas, D Mallikarjun Reddy, Sameer Meghe, Sudhir Parwe; Ramesh Mankar, former President of Zilla Parishad; Ashok Mendhe of Bharat-Tibbat Sahyog Manch, and Dr Upendra Kothekar shared the dais on the occasion. Anandrao Thaware, Office Head of BJP (Rural), presided over the function.

At the outset, Fadnavis, Gadkari and other dignitaries paid a visit to the place where urn containing ashes of Vajpayee was kept, and offered floral tributes. The urn will be carried to Kamptee on Sunday at 9 am. All the people present in the hall paid their respects to the departed soul by observing a two-minute silence.

Expressing grief over the sad demise of Vajpayee, Fadnavis said, “Such a day should not come in our life. Atalji’s presence used to provide us a new energy. Now, he is no more with us. But, we will keep receiving the energy of his thoughts forever. For, he lives on in the heart of each one of us.”

Calling Vajpayee ‘Akhil Guru’, the Chief Minister said, “His journey was similar to growth of a seed into a big tree. He rose to become ‘Akhil Guru’. He dedicated his entire life for nation-building. It was amazing… the kind of qualities he possessed.”

Fadnavis recalled various roles Atalji played during his stellar career. “He had no enemies. He had guts and conducted nuclear tests at Pokhran, following which developed countries imposed numerous sanctions on India. “But, Atalji stood like a rock,” he remembered.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

The sunny Saturday evening in Nagpur got a starry sheen after the lead cast of the upcoming movie, Manmarziyaan, including Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal came down to Orange City for the much-awaited concert.

The lead actors of the film, slated to release on September 14, are touring the length and breadth of the country with stage shows lined up in Delhi, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, and Indore. After having sell-out show one in Mumbai, the music concerts are doubling up as a platform to promote their upcoming film, Manmarziyaan, as well.

In between dancing and performing their hearts out on the super hit tracks of Manmarziyaan, the stars have been talking about their love for the film, which is love story directed by Anurag Kashyap.

Director Anurag Kashyap, in a break from his usual dark genre, is back to delight audience with his rendition of a musical love story, Manmarziyaan; presenting a new age romance in the bylanes of Amritsar and Delhi amidst colours, emotions, music and more.

After the success of the #WakeUpToManmarziyan campaign, wherein the makers of Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming romantic drama released one song every morning this past week the concerts are adding to the buzz around the film. Starting with the runaway hit F for Fyar, songs like Dariya, Chonch Ladhiyaan and Hallaa have taken the internet by storm. Keeping up the tempo, team Manmarziyaan is holding concerts across seven Indian cities to not only promote the film’s soundtrack but also ensuring that the footfalls at the theatre get a boost. The concert headlined by music director Amit Trivedi and his band with over 20 singers are touring across major cities in India and the musical nite in Nagpur would be truly a night to remember.

The Nagpur leg of their ongoing multi-city music tour will also see the stars organising a live donation towards the Kerala CM Relief Fund.

Manmarziyaan will see the return of Abhishek Bachchan to the big screen after a gap of almost two years. The junior Bachchan was last seen in the 2016 rom-com Housefull 3 lead by Akshay Kumar. A markedly sedate Abhishek Bachchan has only wonderful words for the team of Manmarziyaan and the memorable time he had doing the film.

NAGPUR: “To hell with numerology! I don’t care about it. I just want people to call my proper name that is Taapsee, and not Tapasee or Tapaasi.” This was the concerned expressed, though in a witty mood, by popular Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu while talking exclusively to Nagpur Today on Saturday. Taapsee was in Nagpur to for a musical show to promote her upcoming Bollywood film Manmarziyaan. She said that people would see the real Taapsee on screen in Manmarziyaan.

Taapsee said she finds it tough to hit the gym, but she loves playing squash whenever she finds time. She said she had a wish to do sky-diving. She remembered an incident from her childhood when she had jumped out from first floor balcony to go out from her locked house to play with friends.

She said that people in Telugu film industry still call her with the name Maggi, which was name of a character she had played in her second Telugu film, which went on to become a superhit.

Taapsee said that if ever she marries, she will marry to a self-made man but definitely not an actor. “And there should be respect for each other. Love will happen later. There is no love without respect,” she said.

In an interesting comment, when Taapsee was asked as what will be the one thing she would like to change if she got powers to do that, she said, “If it is anatomy that decides superiority, then let’s just chop off a few thing out of men and women!”
