Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur: After West Bengal, the Central Government has rejected Maharashtra’s tableau for the Republic Day Parade on January 26 drawing severe flak from Shiv Sena.

Slamming the Government move, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Maharashtra’s tableau has always been attraction of R-Day Parade. “Had the tableau been rejected during Congress rule, BJP would have launched offensive against the party,” Raut said.

Raut further said that Maharashtra’s tableau has been prepared by JJ School of Arts. The State received many awards for such tableaux. “Now what happened that tableaus of Maharashtra and West Bengal have no place for this year’s R-Day Parade. The reason is: Both states have no BJP rule. Rejection of its tableau is an insult to Maharashtra. I appeal Chief Minister to look into the matter,” Raut said.

A Minister in Maharashtra Government, Jitendra Awhad claimed that Union Home Ministry refused to accept State’s tableau for this year’s R-Day Parade.

Twenty-two proposals — 16 from states and union territories and six from Central Ministries — out of a total 56 have been shortlisted for this year’s parade.

As far as tableau of West Bengal was concerned, the Defence Ministry has rejected the tableau for the Republic Day Parade on January 26 saying that Bengal Government’s proposal was rejected after an Expert Committee examined it in two rounds of meeting. The tableau proposal of the West Bengal government was not taken forward for further consideration by the Expert Committee after deliberations in the second meeting.

Mumbai/Nagpur: In a sign of the slowdown in the auto-industry, registrations of new vehicles dipped by 15 per cent in Maharashtra in 2019 and led to low revenue collection, data provided by the state Road Transport Department showed. Maharashtra is one of the largest auto markets in the country.

The department had set itself a low revenue target for financial year 2019-20, but as of November, even that target appears to be difficult to achieve. It can be noted that since FY15, the department, one of the top revenue-mopping agencies for the state, has delivered revenues higher than the target.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur: A city-based builder has been accused of cheating several people to the tune of crores of rupees in “shady deals.”

One of the complainants, Mr. & Mrs. Panchbhai, permanent residents of Nagpur but currently living in Mumbai, had lodged an FIR with the Butibori Police Station against the builder Gopal Kondawar in 2018 as they came to know that the plots which they have purchased from the builder through his company M/s Jagdamba Realtors Pvt. Ltd. have been resold to one Ashish Balpande who is nothing but a puppet of Kondawar.

In the FIR, the couple alleged that when they approached Kondawar, he was giving vague excuses. The Panchbhai couple came to know that Gopal Kondawar has defrauded several people more particularly belonging to a particular community in a similar way and therefore they have lodged an FIR against him at Butibori Police Station. The complainants further said that at present, the builder is on bail and has gone underground as Sitabuldi police have failed to arrest and produce him before the court.

According to the complainants, the builder Kondawar through his company M/s Jagdamba Realtors Pvt. Ltd. has introduced the buyback scheme of plots in his layout situated in Mangrul village, Wardha road, Tahsil and district Nagpur. In the said buyback scheme, Kondawar has issued advance cheques to show his promptness of making the payment, however, all his cheques were bounced and many criminal complaints under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 are pending against him. The cheques which were given to Mr. & Mrs. Panchbhai were also bounced and therefore a criminal complaint against Kondawar is pending before Dadar and Bandra Metropolitan Courts, Mumbai respectively. Whereas proclamation of offender has been issued against Gopal Kondawar, however, he is still absconding and not appearing in any of the courts.

It seems, the complainants alleged, the builder is a habitual offender of committing offences like atrocity and cheque bounce case. And his employees, Ashish Balpande, Rahul Ruikar, Prashant Shingewar, and his family members, wife, Varsha Kondawar, son, Abhishek Kondawar, and daughter Ankita Kondawar are also abettors of the aforementioned offences, the Panchbhai couple said in their FIR. They have also appealed the general public at large to intimate the whereabouts of Gopal Kondawar to the police and also not to deal in any of the commercial activities with the accused builder.

On being contacted for his version, the builder Gopal Kondawar refused to respond and kept the mobile phone ringing.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur: After reaching great heights in ideal policing by winning Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation and the FICCI Award for Smart Policing, Raj Tilak Roushan, former Deputy Commissioner of Police in Nagpur City and the current Superintendent of Police, Osmanabad, is all set to enthrall the people in a creative way. An IIT Kharagpur alumni, Roushan came up with a collection of short stories in his book – “The Good, the Bad and the Unknown” — which aims to take the reader into the minds of criminals and police officers.

Published by “Bloomsbury” that have published international bestselling authors like JK Rowling (Harry Potter), Khaled Hosseini, William Dalrymple etc, The Good, the Bad and the Unknown is gripping and spellbinding in its storytelling. The collection depicts not only the seedy underbelly of our society but also tries to show what motives people around us and people like us have to take up a life of crime. All the characters in the stories — be it the grandmother who finds a dead body in her house or the farmer whose crops are burnt down or even a petty thief — have layers to their personalities, where truth and friction can barely be discerned. Each story portrays various shades of human behavior — guilt, rage, love, greed, vengeance and fear — and offers many versions of the truth; the protagonist(s) and even the readers have to rely on their wits to make sense of this twisted world around them.

In an exclusive chat with Nagpur Today, Roushan narrates that the book is of literary fiction genre and also discusses the various aspects of the book, which is set to release on Jaunary 18, 2020 on online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. It is already available for purchase as preorder on Amazon and Flipkart. Even in preorder stage itself the book has created a huge buzz by appearing in top 50 bestsellers in various categories on Amazon.

“The Good, the Bad and the Unknown” has a universal appeal to it as it reflects the unraveling of the deepest and darkest human emotions through the most unlikely of characters,” says Roushan and added, “A collection of thrilling 18 short stories which have subtle interconnections, The Good, the Bad and the Unknown, transports you into a distorted and grisly world of crime where police officer Rishi (protagonist) is thrown in the midst of cases which seemingly appear impossible to solve. However, there are clues and hints neatly planted between all the 18 short stories which can help you see the big picture. The book showcases the vagaries of human nature affecting criminals, complainants, victims and police officers alike.”
