Crime wave unchecked amid Winter Session in Nagpur, police in a fix

Nagpur: While the bigwigs of the State Government are in Nagpur for the ongoing Winter Session, the city continues to grapple with a spate of serious crimes. In a brazen incident, gold ornaments and cash collectively worth ₹24 lakh were looted from a businessman’s house in Itwari under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj Police Station. This follows a shocking heist in the Kapil Nagar area, where armed dacoits targeted another businessman just a day earlier. The unabated crime spree has raised questions about the city’s security arrangements during this high-profile political assembly.

Thieves broke into the house of Rajesh Jain and decamped with the valuables. The theft was discovered on Thursday morning after which the police swung into action and registered a case of theft.

According to police, Rajesh Jain runs a cable business and lives with his family on the upper floor of the house, while his elderly parents live on the ground floor in Itwari. On the evening of Wednesday, Rajesh and his family attended a wedding anniversary function of his younger brother Mukesh at a farmhouse on Bhandara Road. During their absence, thieves broke into the house and stole 20 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs 9 lakh in cash from a cupboard in Rajesh’s parents’ room.

The theft was discovered around 11 am on Thursday morning when neighbours noticed that the lock of the house had been broken. The neighbours quickly informed Rajesh, who returned with his family to find the theft had occurred. Lakadganj Police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. It was found that the thieves had only opened the cupboard in the parents’ room. It indicated that they had confirmed information about the cash and jewellery kept in the cupboard. No other rooms were disturbed by the thieves, said the police.

The police officials privy to the investigation stated that it raised suspicions that the thieves had prior knowledge of the family’s valuables. The theft was carried out carefully in a densely populated area, which has left the police questioning how the thieves managed to avoid detection. The Police believe that the crime may have been planned based on a tip-off from someone familiar with the family. There was no CCTV footage from the house itself.

However, footage from a neighbour’s CCTV cameras showed two persons running away from the house late at night. The identities of the suspect are still unknown, as they were not clearly visible in the footage. The police have registered a case against the unknown thieves and are continuing their investigation.

Nagpur: Chaos erupted at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Nagpur Rural when an agent, enraged by a candidate’s failure in the driving test, allegedly issued death threats to on-duty officials.

The Kapil Nagar Police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Javed Khan Chhote Khan Pathan, a resident of Rathod Layout, Katol Road.

According to a complaint lodged by Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector (AMVI) Rahul Bapurao Dhakate, the accused works as an RTO agent and owns Zara Driving School. Khan has reportedly been misusing his position by stamping driving license forms with his school’s seal and pressuring officials to pass unqualified candidates. The driving school is registered under his wife’s name, which Khan allegedly uses as a cover to push his demands.

The incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Tuesday when one of Khan’s candidates failed the driving test. Furious over the outcome, Khan, accompanied by three to four accomplices, confronted Dhakate in his office. When Dhakate refused to comply with Khan’s demands, the accused reportedly hurled abuses, threatened to have him dismissed, and disrupted office proceedings by throwing documents off the table.

Khan then stormed into the cabin of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Hitesh Dawda, continuing his tirade of abuse and issuing death threats.

Based on the complaint, the Kapil Nagar Police have booked Khan under Sections 132, 296, and 351(3) of the BNS, which pertain to obstructing a public servant from discharging duties and issuing criminal threats. Authorities are investigating the case further to ensure the safety of RTO staff and maintain order in the premises.

Nagpur: In a deeply disturbing incident, a woman in the MIDC Police Station area of Nagpur was allegedly molested and later forced to prostrate before her attacker in a shocking display of intimidation. The ordeal, which unfolded at a petrol pump, was captured on video and widely circulated on social media, triggering public outrage.

The MIDC police acted swiftly, arresting three individuals involved: Rajesh Mishra, a property dealer; Vikas Borkar, a self-employed individual; and Pankaj Barekar, who runs a fish fry stall. All three have been remanded to police custody for two days.

The incident occurred on Wednesday around 9 pm when the victim, a 44-year-old woman, confronted Vikas Borkar at the petrol pump after he verbally abused a stray dog. The exchange escalated as Vikas reportedly abused and molested the woman. Later, he returned with Rajesh Mishra and other associates, threatening the victim with dire consequences unless she apologized by prostrating before him.

Under duress, the woman was compelled to comply, while one of the accomplices filmed the degrading act. When the woman attempted to seize the phone, she was pushed to the ground, sustaining head injuries in the scuffle.

The victim immediately contacted the police, and a team was dispatched to the scene. The accused were apprehended soon after.

This shocking case has highlighted the brazen intimidation tactics used by the perpetrators and the urgent need for stricter enforcement of laws to protect women from such abuses. Further investigations are underway to ensure justice for the victim.

‘Urban Naxals’ involved in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, claims Fadnavis; Patole rejects

Nagpur: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made scathing claims against Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra while speaking in the Maharashtra Assembly. Fadnavis claimed that over a dozen pro-Naxal organisations took part in the countrywide Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He claimed that a meeting was held in Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu in November this year where issues like opposing the electronic voting machines (EVMs) were discussed. Among other issues discussed here were the introduction of ballot papers in Maharashtra and other BJP-ruled states.

“A meeting was held on November 15, 2024 at Kathmandu in Nepal. Where it was decided to carry a campaign for ballot in Maharashtra and other BJP ruled states. Not only this, of 180 organisations Bharat Jodo Abhiyan held meetings with during elections, 40 are being named as frontal organisations of urban Naxals),” the Maharashtra CM said.

He also claimed that the 40 organisations organised programmes and published pamphlets for Bharat Jodo Yatra during poll period in the state. Quoting former State Home Minister RR Patil, Fadnavis said that these organisations have also been named as frontal organisations previously.

“On February 18, 2014, during the Manmohan Singh Government, the Central Government mentioned 72 frontal organisations in the Lok Sabha, out of which 7 organisations are from Bharat Jodo; 13 organisations whose names were taken by anti-Naxal operation are related to Bharat Jodo.”

Moreover, Fadnavis also referred to a case being probed in Malegaon and the discourse of vote jihad during Maharashtra elections. In Malegaon, some youngsters complained to cops about ₹114 crore in benami money being deposited into their accounts.

The money deposited was then diverted to the accounts of Siraj Mohammad and 21 others, he said. Fadnavis added that accused Siraj Mohammad used Aadhaar and PAN details of 14 people to create 14 accounts in Malegaon’s Nashik Merchants Cooperative Bank.

The senior BJP leader further claimed that the case is not restricted only to Malegaon and is spread across 21 states with 201 accounts seeing transactions worth around ₹1,000 crore.

Fadnavis said the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had started a probe into the use of “terror funds” in the elections, asserting that there was “evidence of foreign interference”.

Patole dismisses Fadnavis’s claims

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole on Friday dismissed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s claims linking Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra to urban Naxal groups as baseless and politically motivated.

Speaking at Vidhan Bhavan during the Winter Session, Patole said, “The BJP is trying to defame a movement that has garnered immense public support. These allegations are an attempt to divert attention from the real issues plaguing the State.”

Patole challenged Fadnavis to substantiate his claims with evidence. “If the Chief Minister has proof, he should present it to the public. Otherwise, these are just empty statements aimed at spreading misinformation,” Patole said. He added that the Congress is committed to addressing public grievances through peaceful and democratic means, unlike the BJP, which “thrives on creating divisions and distractions.”

Fadnavis announces SIT, judicial probe into Sarpanch’s murder in Beed

Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday addressed the Legislative Assembly during a short-term discussion and made a statement on the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog village in Kej, Beed district. He announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a judicial inquiry to probe the incident.

Fadnavis revealed that criminal charges have already been filed against Valmik Karad in one case. He assured that if connections to other incidents emerge, strict action will follow.

The shocking chain of events

Fadnavis detailed the gruesome chain of events that led to Deshmukh’s murder. On December 6, Ashok Ghule, Sudarshan Ghule, and Pratik Ghule allegedly visited the office of Avaada Energy, a company heavily invested in wind energy in Beed, where they assaulted the watchman and senior project manager. Following the attack, the victims contacted Sarpanch Deshmukh, who intervened to stop the culprits. A video of Deshmukh’s associates retaliating against the accused later went viral.

On December 9, as Deshmukh was returning to his village alone in a car, he stopped at a petrol pump and met his cousin. Shortly after, at a toll plaza, a black Scorpio and another vehicle intercepted their car. The attackers smashed the windows, dragged Deshmukh out, and brutally assaulted him. They tied him with wires, continued the assault, and fled after he succumbed to his injuries.

Political and criminal nexus

Fadnavis revealed that Deshmukh’s brother had been in continuous contact with Vishnu Mahadev Chate, a key figure in the incident. Despite assurances of Deshmukh’s release, he was subjected to a fatal assault. The attackers targeted his eyes, although they were not burned as initially alleged. Fadnavis emphasized the brutality of the murder, describing it as a cold-blooded act.

Action against Valmik Karad and other accused

The incident on December 6 also saw Valmik Karad issuing threats under Chate’s direction. Karad, along with Sudarshan Ghule, had demanded Rs 2 crore in extortion and threatened to halt Avaada Energy’s operations. Fadnavis assured the Assembly that anyone found guilty in either of the interconnected cases would face strict action, regardless of their affiliations.

Plans for crackdown

To combat organized crime in Beed, Fadnavis proposed a comprehensive crackdown on land mafias and other criminals. He confirmed that the accused in this case could face charges under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).

Dual investigations and relief measures

An SIT led by senior officers and a judicial inquiry will investigate the case, with Fadnavis setting a timeline of three to six months for the completion of these probes. He also announced Rs 10 lakh in financial aid for Deshmukh’s family, asserting that no monetary compensation could match the loss of the young Sarpanch’s life.

The Chief Minister concluded with a stern warning to criminal elements in Beed, pledging to uproot their activities and ensure justice for the victim.

Who is Mohan Bhagwat Targeting in His Critique of Hindu Leadership?

$

The ongoing Hindu-Muslim discourse in India has sparked concern within the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). While RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat refrained from naming any specific leader, his recent remarks suggest a shift in the organization’s approach to its long-standing Hindutva agenda. Bhagwat’s comments, delivered during the ‘Sahjeevan Vyakhyanmala’ event in Pune, emphasized fostering harmony in society and indirectly criticized those attempting to use religious controversies for political gain.

A Call for Harmony Amid Rising Tensions

Addressing the gathering, Bhagwat expressed disapproval of recent disputes over temples and mosques, which he views as politically motivated. He warned against exploiting such issues to position oneself as a leader of Hindus, describing this approach as unacceptable. Without explicitly mentioning anyone, Bhagwat’s remarks seemed to target those leveraging controversies like the Gyanvapi mosque surveys and similar disputes in places like Sambhal and Ajmer Sharif.

A Shift in the RSS Narrative?

Bhagwat’s tone reflects a deviation from the RSS’s traditional stance on Hindutva. Historically, such critiques were expected from opposition parties like Congress, not the RSS. In September 2024, Bhagwat had already taken a similar stand, discouraging the excessive use of slogans like “Jai Shri Ram” and calling for restraint in raising new religious issues. His recent remarks reinforce this perspective, suggesting a broader concern over the politicization of religious matters.

Is Yogi Adityanath the Unnamed Target?

Speculation abounds that Bhagwat’s comments might be aimed at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The RSS’s discomfort with Adityanath’s assertive leadership style and his controversial statements—such as linking religious texts to specific locations like Sambhal—has fueled these conjectures. Some within the BJP have also raised concerns about Adityanath’s perceived independence, which they attribute to his reliance on the RSS’s support.

Implications for BJP and Hindutva Politics

Bhagwat’s remarks come at a time when the BJP faces increasing scrutiny from opposition parties. By advocating for an inclusive society and adherence to constitutional values, Bhagwat’s statements align more with narratives traditionally promoted by opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi. This unexpected alignment has sparked debates about whether the RSS is distancing itself from hardline Hindutva to adopt a more centrist approach.

What Lies Ahead for the Hindutva Agenda?

Mohan Bhagwat’s call for harmony and restraint challenges the aggressive pursuit of religious-political agendas. By urging leaders to focus on societal unity rather than divisive issues, the RSS chief signals a potential recalibration of the organization’s priorities. However, this shift raises questions about its impact on the BJP’s electoral strategies and its ability to navigate an evolving political landscape.

In conclusion, Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statements underline a nuanced approach to Hindutva, emphasizing harmony over conflict. Whether this signals a long-term strategic shift for the RSS or a temporary response to political dynamics remains to be seen.

Speaker Narvekar plans Mantralaya offices in abandoned building near Vidhan Bhavan in Nagpur

Nagpur: The long-abandoned, half-constructed Poonam Plaza near Vidhan Bhavan has once again grabbed headlines. Initially envisioned as a landmark development by a prominent Nagpur-based builder, its construction came to a halt years ago when the Maharashtra Government realised it a security threat to the State Legislature.

Now, a fresh proposal has been floated by State Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar to repurpose the structure into an Administrative Complex. The plan aims to accommodate various “Mantralaya” offices under one roof. However, the move has raised critical questions about security.

If the building was once considered a threat to Vidhan Bhavan, how can it now be deemed safe, even with government offices inside? High-profile dignitaries, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, and other VIPs, frequently visit Vidhan Bhavan, increasing the need for heightened security. With a surge of public visitors to these proposed offices, could this setup inadvertently create new vulnerabilities?

Years ago, there were discussions to acquire Poonam Plaza for the expansion of Vidhan Bhavan. The plan envisioned using the additional space for parking, office accommodations, and even a Central Hall. Meetings involving the Legislature Secretariat, Public Works Department, and Revenue Department were held to expedite the acquisition process.

However, the proposal fell through due to disputes with the builder and stalled negotiations. At the time, the builder reportedly refused to sell the unfinished structure, stymieing the government’s plans.

Today, Poonam Plaza stands as a crumbling monument to unfulfilled ambitions, posing not only a security risk to Vidhan Bhavan but also a safety hazard to the public. Questions linger over how such a towering structure was initially permitted so close to a sensitive government zone.

The building’s deteriorated state complicates any plans for its acquisition. Repairs and retrofitting would likely be extensive and expensive, raising doubts about the feasibility of converting it into a functional Administrative Complex.

Next steps: Decision pending

The government has yet to decide whether to construct a new building or repurpose Poonam Plaza. The current proposal underscores the urgency to address administrative space needs, but the security concerns remain unresolved.

With history as a guide, any decision about Poonam Plaza will need to carefully weigh the risks and benefits. For now, this iconic yet infamous structure continues to stir debates about its future and its implications for Nagpur’s governance and security landscape.

Builder responds to new proposal

When contacted by Nagpur Today about the latest announcement, the builder clarified that no such proposal has been made to him. “I will comment when the proposal comes to me,” he stated, neither confirming nor denying the possibility of a deal.

Fadnavis announces judicial probe into Parbhani violence

Nagpur: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday announced a judicial probe into the Parbhani violence.

The Chief Minister said another judicial probe has been ordered into the death of Somnath Suryawanshi who died after his arrest in connection with the violence in Parbhani over the desecration of a replica of the Constitution.

Largescale protests had degenerated into violence after a glass-enclosed replica of the Constitution near Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue outside Parbhani Railway Station was vandalised on the evening of December 10.

“The judicial inquiry into the Parbhani violence will be done to clear all doubts. Ambedkar is not limited to any caste. He belongs to all,” said Fadnavis.

The Chief Minister also announced financial aid of Rs 10 to the kin of Suryawanshi.

Congress members put Ambedkar’s photos on desks in Assembly

Congress leaders on Friday placed photographs of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on their desks in the Maharashtra Assembly amid the party’s allegations that Union Home Minister Amit Shah insulted the Dalit icon.

This prompted Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to urge Speaker Rahul Narvekar to allow him to put a similar photo on his desk.

Pawar said Ambedkar belongs to everyone and even the treasury benches should be allowed to display his photographs.

The Speaker said he had not allowed any member to put such photographs on their desks. Narvekar also asked the Congress leaders, including Vijay Wadettiwar, Nitin Raut and Nana Patole, to remove the pictures.

Congress’ Vijay Wadettiwar raised the vandalism of their party office in Mumbai. How political parties can resort to hooliganism, he asked.

Shiv Sena (UBT) legislators had also placed photos of Ambedkar on their desks but removed them after the Speaker’s objection.

With the Congress leaders not removing the photos in defiance of the Speaker’s message, the members of the ruling Mahayuti also placed Ambedkar’s pictures on their desks.

This prompted the Speaker to adjourn the House proceedings for 10 minutes.

Lawmakers of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Congress, Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP), also held a protest on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan against the attack on the Congress office in Mumbai and Shah’s alleged remarks against Ambedkar.

Council okays hike in stamp duty on affidavits to Rs 500, to hit students hard

Nagpur: The Maharashtra Legislative Council on Friday passed the Maharashtra Stamp (Amendment) 2024 Bill, effectively increasing the stamp duty on affidavits from Rs 100 to Rs 500. This significant hike follows an ordinance issued on October 14, based on a Cabinet decision made on September 30.

The bill, presented by Cabinet Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, was passed without any recommendations in the Council. Justifying the move, Vikhe-Patil stated, “The government’s intention was to bring uniformity among stamp paper rates.”

However, the decision drew criticism from the Opposition. Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve raised concerns over the increased financial burden on the public, particularly students. “This will increase the expenses for affidavits. Earlier, students could get affidavits for purposes like obtaining duplicate transfer certificates for just Rs 50 or Rs 100. Charging Rs 500 for an affidavit is unfair. The best solution would be to allow self-attestation or at least provide franking services,” said Danve.

Highlighting the potential impact on rural students, Danve added, “Many students from rural areas cannot afford to spend Rs 500 or Rs 1,000 every time they need to submit an affidavit.”

The ordinance amending the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958, had earlier proposed increasing stamp duty on affidavits, agreements, and related documents. According to the Revenue Department, this amendment is expected to bolster revenue from stamp duty and registration fees by nearly Rs 2,000 crore annually.

The government’s decision, aimed at streamlining stamp duty rates, has sparked a debate on balancing revenue generation with affordability for common citizens, especially the economically weaker sections and students.

Winter chill fades in Nagpur as minimum temp rises to 16.1 degree C

Nagpur: The biting cold that had Nagpurians bundled up in layers of warm clothing just days ago has dissipated, thanks to the impact of a cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal and altered wind patterns. The weather phenomenon caused a noticeable rise in temperatures in Nagpur and across Vidarbha on Friday.

Nagpur’s minimum temperature soared to 16.1 degrees Celsius, a sharp increase of 6.1 degrees from the previous readings. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the warming trend began on December 18 and is expected to persist for the next few days.

The cyclonic circulation also brought partially cloudy skies to the city on Friday, contributing to the elevated minimum temperatures. Nagpur’s temperature was the third-highest in Vidarbha, trailing Gondia, which recorded 16.6 degrees Celsius, and Wardha at 16.2 degrees Celsius. Other parts of Vidarbha reported cooler nights, with minimum temperatures remaining below the 15-degree mark.

Daytime temperatures have also been unseasonably high, with all districts in Vidarbha crossing the 30-degree Celsius threshold on Friday.

The sudden change in weather has disrupted the region’s winter pattern, leaving residents to adapt to warmer days and milder nights. While the chill has temporarily abated, meteorologists advise keeping an eye on updates for any further shifts in the weather.

Dubious record: 7 days, 39 ministers, zero portfolios; Fadnavis Govt under fire!

Nagpur: Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has found himself in a unique predicament. Despite the first session of the State Legislature in Nagpur nearing its conclusion on Saturday, the 39 ministers inducted into his Cabinet remain in the dark about their departmental responsibilities. Even a week after taking the oath, these ministers continue to await portfolio allocation.

Ministers without assigned departments attended the Assembly, but critical issues like the agricultural crisis and unemployment went unanswered. This delay has given the Opposition, particularly the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), an opportunity to accuse the government of bringing administrative paralysis to the state. BJP leaders, meanwhile, continue to assure that the situation will be resolved “within two days.”

But what’s causing this delay? Why is CM Fadnavis hesitant to finalize the allocation?

The Maharashtra Assembly election results were announced on November 23, with Fadnavis assuming the role of Chief Minister on December 5. Following a 10-day wait, the Cabinet was expanded on December 15. Yet, by December 21, the ministers still had no clarity on their responsibilities.

The root of the issue lies in the tussle between the MahaYuti allies– BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP– over key ministries. The finance, home, and urban development portfolios are at the centre of contention. While both BJP and Shiv Sena stake claim to the urban development ministry, Ajit Pawar of the NCP has also expressed interest in the same department.

Sources suggest that the final decision will come from the BJP high command in Delhi. According to insiders, the delay was due to the ongoing parliamentary session, but discussions are expected to resume soon. A Cabinet Minister, speaking anonymously, remarked, “We are completely in the dark. We have no idea which departments will be allocated to us or when the announcement will happen. The government is functioning without our involvement.”

The battle for Pune’s Guardian Minister post has further complicated the situation. BJP insiders revealed that the party is treading carefully to maintain balance within the alliance. The high command is keen to avoid any friction among the partners after portfolios are allocated.

It is likely that CM Fadnavis will retain the home ministry, while Deputy CM Eknath Shinde may oversee the urban development and public works ministries. Ajit Pawar is expected to reclaim the finance ministry, with the agriculture ministry also going to the NCP.

However, Ajit Pawar has demanded the Guardian Minister post for Pune, putting BJP in a tight spot. Senior BJP leader Chandrakant Patil is also vying for the position, as Pune holds strategic importance for controlling politics in western Maharashtra.

In a bid to resolve the impasse, BJP has reportedly offered Pawar a choice between the finance ministry and the Pune Guardian Minister post.

Nagpur: Seventeen-year-old Kareena Thapa from Amravati has become a symbol of courage and quick thinking, saving the lives of 70 families during a devastating fire at Jai Amba Apartment. Her extraordinary bravery has earned her the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, an honor bestowed by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.

President Droupadi Murmu will present the award to Kareena at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on December 26, coinciding with Veer Bal Diwas, a day observed to honour the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh’s sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.

A heroic act that saved lives

On the evening of May 15, 2024, smoke began billowing from a second-floor flat in the B wing of Jai Amba Apartment, located near Podar International School on Kathora Road. Amid the chaos, Kareena, who works as a domestic help, sprang into action.

Breaking into the locked neighbouring flat, she braved the dense smoke and flames to tackle the fire near a gas cylinder. Using buckets of water, she managed to control the blaze around the cylinder and eventually dragged it out, preventing a potential explosion. Her timely intervention averted a catastrophic tragedy, earning her widespread admiration.

Recognition for courage

The local Women and Child Development Department recognized Kareena’s valour and forwarded her nomination for the national award through the District Collector. After a thorough review by the Union Ministry, she was selected for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, which celebrates exemplary courage, innovation, and social service among India’s youth.

The annual award ceremony honours outstanding contributions by children across various fields, including sports, science and technology, art and culture, social service, and environmental conservation. Recipients are awarded a medal, a memento, and a certificate for their achievements.

Kareena’s act of bravery has not only saved lives but also highlighted the extraordinary capabilities of ordinary individuals in extraordinary circumstances. As she prepares to receive the nation’s highest honour for children, her story continues to inspire countless others to act selflessly and courageously in times of crisis.
