Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Mumbai/Nagpur: Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Friday announced the party’s new executive committee for the state, and said that former minister Pankaja Munde will get a role in the party at the national level soon.

Addressing a press conference, Patil said that apart from her position at the national level, Munde will also be made part of the state BJP’s core committee.

Pankaja Munde, daughter of BJP stalwart late Gopinath Munde, had lost the Parli seat to her cousin and NCP rival Dhananjay Munde in the state assembly polls held last year. She had been reportedly sulking since her defeat in the state polls. She was reportedly also upset over not being given candidature for the state Legislative Council polls held on May 21.

“Munde will be given a party position at the national level soon. She will also be made part of the state BJP’s core committee,” Patil said.

He said that the new executive committee has 12 vice presidents, including former state minister Ram Shinde, former ministers and current legislators Jaykumar Raval and Sanjay Kute.

Shinde had lost last year’s assembly polls.

Beed MP and Pankaja’s younger sister Pritam Munde and state BJP spokesman Madhav Bhandari are two vice presidents of the executive committee, he added.

Former energy minister Chandrashekar Bawankule, who was denied a ticket in the last assembly polls, is among the five general secretaries of the state executive, Patil said.

There will be 12 secretaries and one treasurer as well as 55 special invitees, he said.

Patil said that the state executive has representation from all sections of the society and all regions of the state.

Patil, who was the Revenue minister in the previous Devendra Fadnavis-led state government, was appointed as the state BJP president in July last year. He replaced Raosaheb Danve, who had resigned from the position after his induction into the Union cabinet.

MSMEs ,who are the major contributors to Nation’s Economic Growth, and their share in GDP,Export and job creation in the country is quite significant. It has been widely recognised by everyone in the country and therefore it has got attention althroughout the country, Shri.Mayank Shukla, Chairman, Vidarbha Chapter of Chamber of Small Industry Associations (COSIA) stated.Yet this is not enough, as after a long Lockdown period of more than 60 days, it has not been able to stabilise because of numerous problems, they are facing.

Although Government is trying to support them in this period of crisis to come out of the woods , still it is feared that more than 35% of industrial units are facing closure. The stimulus packages announced by the Goverment is not being availed by the MSME sector because of uncertainty in the situation.Shri.Shukla,said

Further more they are facing a situation of total uncertainty regarding production facilities & consumption demand. Now when the monsoon season is already active, and PANDEMIC COVID-19 is not showing any sign of slowing down, the Export orders are in doldrums, the earlier orders are facing cancellation because of undue delay in execution how the MSMEs will be able to meet out the repayment of increased liabilities after the moratorium period is over , Shri.Shukla wondered.

If ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT Nirman has to become a reality in a stipulated time, these MSMEs needs to be supported and encouraged in moving towards backward integration. The dependency of our country on intermediate products and vital machineries on other countries has to be reduced on war footing Shri Shukla concluded.

Elaborating further on the isdue , Vice Chairman COSIA, CA Julfesh Shah, stated that the Research and Development department of our Technical & Professional colleges has to work in hand to hand in co-ordination with Industries, to develop import substitute products and process that will enable our products self reliant, competitive in cost and quality.

Mass production of PPE kits, which use to be entirely imported earlier and now the present situation is we are in a position to export it to other countries, this has become possible in a period of few months.

It shows our strong will and determination Shri Shah said.Same zeal and enthusiasm we have to show in moving towards backward integration, becoming self reliant and reach the goal of ‘ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT’nirman.

We are not only facing migrant labour problem but also facing a problem of ”Brain Drain’, we not only have to stop this migration of intellectuals but we have to bring back our intellectuals from outside .Shri Shah said further.

ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT is a mission, which needs a coordinated efforts of Technical Institutions, Government Machineries, Financial Experts, and Industries in a MSME sector.MSME has to play major pivotal role in planning and executing this important mission of our country in shortest possible time, Shri Shah ,summed up.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Ex Cabinet Minister Dr. Anees Ahmed today met Nitin Raut Cabinet Minister for Power and demanded withdrawal of inflated power bills generated during lockdown period.

Anees in his deputation to Raut mentioned that the economic impact of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in India has been largely disruptive. India’s growth in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020 went down to 3.1% according to the Ministry of Statistics.

Unemployment rose from 6.7% in March to around 26% as on date. During the lockdown, an estimated 14 crore Indians (140 million) people lost employment while salaries were cut for many others.

More than 45% of households across the nation have reported an income drop as compared to the previous year. The Indian economy lost over ₹32,000 crore every day during the first 21-days of complete lockdown, Up to 53% of businesses in the country are projected to be significantly affected. Those in the informal sectors and daily wage groups have been at the most risk. A large number of farmers around the country who grow perishables also faced uncertainty.

In such a situation, ‘inflated’ power bill has come as a rude shock to the people of Maharashtra, expressed Anees Ahmed.

Ahmed alleged that the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has increased the power tariff from April 1 and demanded to roll back looking at the consequences of pandemic in India.

Anees suggested that Government of Maharashtra should come out with a policy to waive electricity bills for consumption up to certain units on the lines of relief provided to people by Kerla, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh Governments.

Delhi Government has come up with a model where consumption Upto 200 units is free to provide comfort to poor and middle class who are caught in a vicious cycle due to COVID-19.

Kerala Government is giving 50%aid in electricity bills.

Madhya Pradesh state government has made a policy to deposit the amount of Rs 600 crore in the form of subsidy in the account of the electricity company itself in lieu of domestic consumers remarked Ahmed.

In his demands to Nitin Raut, Anees demanded to waive of bills up to consumption of 300 units, waive of surcharge levied in the bill amount, scrapping the bill for the month of June and issuing revised bill, and not to severe power supply of people who do not pay the bill. Maharashtra. *

Also powerloom workers managing small powerlooms from their homes across the state had to suffer the most in lockdown as they were out of work must be given relief in the form of waiving of their three months electricity bill.

Anees strongly demanded that Minister may use his good offices and get aid sanction from Central Government which would bring relief to citizens of Maharashtra* .

Nitin Raut gave a patient learning to Anees Ahmed and assured to look into his demands in a positive way.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur – At a time when rising fuel prices are making headlines every passing day, city-based Rawmatt Industries Private Limited is making attempts to give respite to the fuel consumers by way of offering them an affordable option. The company is offering CNG (compressed natural gas), the most reliable, safe and cheaper fuel that is easily available in the city.

Further, the country’s first private sector LNG storage and LCNG dispensing facility in Nagpur, the company, is aggressively expanding its network of CNG outlets in the region. Apart from this, the company has recently entered into a joint venture (JV) with Tomasetto Achille’s Indian arm for technical support and supply of CNG kits, which is expected to prove useful in bringing down fuel expenses of the consumers.

Tomasetto Achille is recognized worldwide for its CNG conversion system. The company has carved a niche for itself in the international markets because of its quality, reliability and efficiency in providing service to its customers for more than 30 years.

Tomasetto Achille is a leader in quality mechanical components for CNG systems.

Established in 1982 and still led by its founder Achille Tomasetto, the company is located in the North-East of Italy. It is one of the leading companies in designing and manufacturing mechanical components for automotive CNG conversion systems.

“Now, we will be able to provide these high quality products to our customers in the region that will certainly give much relief to those who are struggling to bring down their expenses on petrol and diesel,” said Mr. Sitesh Rawell.

Rawmatt Industries is not only opening new CNG refueling stations in the city and the region as well, but also attracting a large number of consumers towards the safe and eco-friendly fuel.

CNG is a very popular fuel in places like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Gujarat and other places. But as it was not available here till the recent past, fuel consumers in this part of the country had no other option to shell out extra bucks to buy petrol and diesel.

“We have been planning to set up new CNG filling stations in almost all parts of the city. Moreover we also provide facilities for making petrol or diesel vehicles compatible for CNG by converting them. A large number of people are adopting it and saving their money,” he added.

At present, the company is operating two stations located at Automotive Square and Wadi. The company’s new outlets are coming up at Khapri, Hingna and Pardi.

Nagpur Central Jail

Nagpur: A COVID Care Centre has become operational at Nagpur Central Jail from Sunday with admission of 34 asymptomatic prisoners infected by novel coronavirus. Seven symptomatic patients are being treated at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital (IGGMC&H).

Jail Superintendent Anup Kumre stated that three barracks were turned into Covid Care Centre where asymptomatic prisoners will be kept. Each barracks has capacity of 50 patients, it means a total of 150 patients can be treated in the centre, he said. Two barracks will be reserved for COVID
patients while one will be made available for other patients.

Doctors from GMCC&H and IGGMC&H are treating the patients. Even Civil Surgeon himself visited the centre to review the situation, he said. The jail authorities also decided to introduce new diet plan for the prisoners to boost there immunity. “New diet will be made available for the prisoners as per the doctor’s advise. It will boost their immune system,” he said.

Serious patients will be referred to hospitals as per doctor’s advice. If someone feels feverish, he would be immediately quarantined and medical treatment will be given on urgent basis. Similarly, regular medical check ups of the prisoners will also be conducted to identify symptomatic patients.

The COVID-19 spread will also be contained by maintaining social distancing, using masks and applying hand sanitizers.
So far, a total of 41 prisoners and 62 staffers from the prison have been found infected with COVID-19. A total of 1,783 prisoners are living in the prison having more than 20 barracks.

A jail constable was first found infected with COVID-19 on June 27, after which the tally climbed to 103 within a week. The jail authorities have already released 770 prisoners on emergency parole to prevent overcrowding. Even the jail staffers were living in the jail for the period of minimum 15 days so that no staffer would enter the prison with infection. The strategy worked well for three months. But an infected and asymptotic staffer who entered the prison with the batch of 105 staff on June 11 spread the infection in the prison. New prisoners are also being kept at the hall of Mangalmurti Lawn near the jail and a school.

Nagpur Today : Nagpur News

Nagpur: CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) recently organized a webinar on “Development in Methodology and Tools for Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment”. The objective of this webinar was to proliferate methodological tools for environmental impact and risk assessment and improve the effectiveness of the use of environmental impact analyses in decision-making.

Approximately 900 representatives from industries, academics, regulatory authorities, research institutes, etc. participated in the webinar. The expert panellists were Dr. Deepak Apte, Chairman, EAC-Infrastructure, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC); Dr. J. P. Gupta, Chairman, Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC)-Industry II, MoEFCC; Prof. Sharad K. Jain, Chairman, EAC-River Valley & Hydroelectric, MoEFCC; Dr.Vijay Kulkarni, Executive Vice-President, Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Pvt. Ltd.; Prof. A.K. Gosain, IIT-Delhi; Dr. M.V. Ramana Murthy, EAC Member–Infrastructure, MoEFCC; Dr. J. S. Sharma, EAC, Member-Industry II, MoEFCC; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director, CSIR-NEERI; Dr. M. Suresh Kumar, Chief Scientist & Head, Environmental Impact and Sustainability Division (EISD), CSIR-NEERI and Dr. Santosh Ghuge, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-NEERI.

Dr. Gupta advocated to set-up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in India to investigate the root cause of major chemical incidents to protect people and the environment. He signified the importance of 3D modelling in process safety and risk management. He stressed upon the virtual reality-based safety training to predict more accurate impacts. Dr. Ghuge illustrated that a 3D model has a number of advantages over traditional 2D approaches to risk assessment for industrial safety. Dr. Apte expressed concern over environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the proposed Navi Mumbai Airport, as it harbours extensive bird diversity. Prof. Gosain pointed out that without accurate, authentic and enough data it is difficult to run mathematical models to meet the standard desired in environmental impact assessment. Dr. Jain exhorted that the studies concerning assessment of river valley projects should more rely on primary data gathered through field surveys, satellites, drones, GIS, etc. Cumulative EIA should be undertaken through public consultation rather than participation, he added.

Sharing his international experience on EIA studies, Dr. Kulkarni stated that currently there are no specific guidelines for deciding the study area and sampling locations while conducting EIA studies. The leading Institutes like CSIR-NEERI, IITs, etc. should find out the basis in this regard, he added. Dr. Kulkarni said that we should do environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) rather than just EIA. Dr. Bherwani highlighted the methodologies by which environmetal damages can monetarily be estimated.

He informed that the special report prepared by CSIR-NEERI on ‘Framework for Environmental Damage Cost Assessment with Examples” can act as a baseline tool for monetary assessment of environmental impacts and be useful for policy makers, industries, regulatory authorities, etc. Dr. Sharma advised to link the risk assessment study of a particular industry or plant with social impact assessment, climate change and biodiversity index. Highlighting the EIA methodology and tools for coastal development projects, Dr. Murthy focused on the need to develop automated sensors for coastal environmental monitoring.

Earlier, in his inuagural address, Dr. Rakesh Kumar briefed about the preventive risk assessment and auditing to develop a system that allows processing of information for analysis and industrial risk management. This would help to monitor the level of industrial safety and perform necessary measures aimed at the prevention of accidents, he added. In his welcome address, Dr. Suresh Kumar outlined the purpose and scope of environmental impact and risk assessment to seek expert opinions on the theme of the webinar. Dr. M. Karthik proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Santosh Ghuge and Dr. M Karthik coordinated the workshop.
