Nagpur News.
While addressing the 18,000 Booth In-charges of the 1810 Booths (one In-Charge and 12 activists) and the BJP party workers, during the BJP Booth Commitment (Sankalp) Maha Melawa 2014 with the theme Win the Booth, Win Loksabha (Booth Jeeto-Loksabha Jeeto), Former BJP Chief Nitin Gadkari said that If BJP comes to power in the centre, He promised to provide homes to the homeless in the city, clean drinking water and good roads for the denizens of the city of Nagpur.
He said that today, we have a name, popularity, have enjoyed power etc, which many party activists who have been struggling throughout their lives have not got. Yet they continue to work hard for the party. He added that it is not because of the name that they are working, but the ideologies of BJP that they are working. While giving credit to such activists of BJP, he said that it is only because of the hard work of these party workers, that we (Nitin Gadkari and other Leaders) are where we are.
We want to work for the people-centric policies, for our nation. We have a long way to go.
Nitin Gadkari, gave the example of the Prime-Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. He said that Modi is unmarried. He has his mother and lives in Gujarat. But he has left his house so that he can serve the nation. It is only by such commitment and dedication that BJP can come to power.
Gadkari said that our nation is going through a very bad phase. He said that we are a rich nation with poor people. Vidarbha is known by the rest of the nation only because of more than 10,000 farmers committing suicide till date. He said whose job is it? Is it not the job of politicians to provide jobs to the unemployed, good clean drinking water, food, clothing and shelter to the poor and needy. BJP will definitely work to change the scenario.
While explaining his point, he gave the statistics of the amount of imports we do and the millions of rupees we spend to import goods like gold, petrol, crude oil etc.
He added that we incur an expenditure of Rs 6 lakh crores on import of petrol. If we save that amount by producing bio-fuel, we can certainly provide jobs to all the unemployed youth of our country. The total amount incurred in all the imports put together is $ 3.5 Million.
He pointed out that many smaller countries have inflation which is less than 4 per cent. However, we have super ceded all of them. The rate of interest is highest in our country.
We have knowledge , and expertise in most fields, yet why are we not recognized in our country. He added that some of the most famous and sought after medical professionals in USA, Canada and other developed countries are Indians.
The reason of the deteriorating condition in our country, is because of wrong policies, visionless leadership. He claimed that he has dedicated his life for the cause of farmers in Vidarbha and vows to ensure that he will do everything to ensure that no farmer ever commits suicide. He said that everything is possible. Inflation can be reduced, homeless can get homes, good water can be provided etc. He rued about the state of the Government hospitals. He said that poor do not get treatment in these government hospitals.
Gadkari claimed that good governance will change the state of the villages. He said that anything is possible to he who has a will to do hard work. He said in Hindi that Sub Jukhta Hai, Sirf Jhukaney Wala Chahiye.
Gadkari added that the citizens of the nation are fed with the existing government. With the rampant corruption in Congress which is to the tune of Rs 6 lakh 80 thousand crores (all scams put together).
Now BJP has taken the responsibility to clean the dirt. Everything will depend on how hard the party workers work. He added that any other rival political parties are trying out the age old system of frightening the minorities that once BJP party wins, they will be eliminated or will never get their recognition. He added that every BJP worker has to work hard and with honesty. He said that whether it is MP, MLA, Party Chief or anybody, everybody including himself are party workers. He said that a President can become Ex-President, a Chief Minister can become an Ex-Chief Minister, an MP or MLA can become an Ex-MP or Ex-MLA, but a party worker can never become an ex-worker.
Gadkari said that the 2014 elections are very crucial and everybody including himself must go from door to door, man to man and heart to heart and reach out to people. They have to be made understood of why to elect BJP into power. Many people are having misconceptions about BJP, these doubts and misconceptions have to be cleared.
He claimed that if every party worker in the city works hard, he is 100 per cent confident that he will win with 2.5 lakh votes.
However he advised the party workers not be against those who are against BJP. What we have lacked so far is that we have been unable to make them understand us and our ideologies.
He went on to tell the workers to oppose all those who play caste, creed, religion politics. He said that the BJP does not need such kind of people in their cadres too. He claimed that that is exactly what his mentor Deendayal Upadhyay taught him and spoke of the upliftment of the poor and needy.
While proving his point that most active BJP workers and activists (especially the leaders on the dais) are from Congress party. He said that BJP does the role of connecting people and accepting people from every party.
He has promised to visit the houses of citizens whenever possible.
He took a dig at the media. He said that he could very well give a befitting reply to the party head who defamed him, but he said that there is a censorship put on his mouth. Whatever he says becomes breaking news. He urged the party workers to visit every home with the voters list, get the mobile number, and collect funds too.
The BJP has made a decision to collect one note and one vote from the citizens. According to Nitin Gadkari, if there is at least 70 per cent voting from each booth and 75 per cent for BJP than there is nothing to prevent Nitin Gadkari from winning.
Earlier all the dignitaries which included Former BJP Chief Nitin Gadkari, State chief of BJP Devendra Fadnavis, MP Banwarilal Purohit, BJP Advisor Sudhakarao Deshmukh, Rajya Sabha Member MP Ajay Sancheti, Mayor Anil Sole, Deputy Mayor Jaitunbi Ashfaq, MLA Krishna Kopde, Vikas Khumbhare, Praveen Dhatke, former Mayor Archana Dehankar, Jamal Siddiqui and other lit the traditional lamp after a dance drama based on Hindu Mythology was performed by the Malhar Dance Troupe.
MLA Krishna Kopde lauded the enthusiasm of the party workers and the 18,000 booth in-charges and the supporting 10 activists per booth who gathered at the Reshimbagh Grounds in such a small time’s notice. He claimed that the look of Nagpur is slowly changing. He added that for 20 years, the Congress party ruled the nation and the local Congress leaders received almost Rs 20 crores for various development works, but none were utilized for the development of the city. He demanded a CBI inquiry into the whereabouts of the funds and the account of the expenditure. He asked the party workers to collect funds in the boxes which will be given to party workers under the theme one note and one vote. He went on to say that all the leaders (those sitting on the dais would have to start the donation drive by donating Rs 5000 or 10,000.
Party Advisor Sudhakarrao Deshmukh highlighted the need for the party workers to equip themselves with how BJP is better than any other party. He asked them to quote the Inflation, Corruption and Atrocities on Women during the UPA’s regime and the utter failure in curbing the curbing the above mentioned. He highlighted how the prices of petrol and diesel have continuously been hiked. How maximum number of rapes were committed in the past 10 years and how the government could not do anything to curb the menace.
He also took a dig at Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Admi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal and said that he has been continuously been taking ill of Congress party and of Sheila Dixit, but joined hands with the same party to form the government. Earlier, former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit admitted that Women are not safe in Delhi, now even Kejriwal is admitting that Women are not safe in Delhi. He claimed that during the regime of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee the nation saw many development works. That was the success of BJP. However during 10 years of UPA’s regime, all that the nation saw was corruption, inflation and crime rate going up by the day. Even MIHAN was brought about by Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis had strived to extend the runaway and bring Boeing MRO, but some ministers from Congress claim to have brought the entire MIHAN and allied projects. The existing government has ignored many problems faced by the citizens of the nation like LPG, Giving franchisee of power distribution to Spanco causing innumerable problems to power consumers, farmers suicide, Rain-hit farmers not receiving the compensation promised by the Central Government as yet etc.
Only by the good governance of leaders like Nitin Gadkari, Devendra Fadnavis will Indian culture be well preserved, due attention paid towards Agriculture, Natural resources will properly utilized and conserved, Women will get due respect and protection, Youth will get properly guided and utilized etc.
During the programmed, Vithalrao Bede who had left and the party and had gone to join some other party and had returned was welcomed with due honours.
Mayor Anil Sole highlighted the achievements of NMC and how during their regime, many development works were achieved including garbage collection, Startbus facility and so many other things. However he claimed that the Congress ministers and workers have done everything to prevent from development activities from taking place in the city. He also claimed that it is only because of leaders like Nitin Gadkari who strived to get funds for the development of the city.
MP Banwarilal Purohit came up with a very positive attitude and declared that Narendra Modi will certainly become the Prime Minister and the BJP flag will be definitely be hoisted in Delhi. A leader who is known by everyone as a progressive leader Nitin Gadkari will definitely win elections. He gave the credit of 55 flyovers in Mumbai to Gadkari and even 2 in Nagpur city which has enable smooth traffic flow and an ability to reach Sadar from Airport in much lesser time than was required earlier. He however asked Nitin Gadkari to pay attention to two main deficiencies of Nagpur. First the regularizing of 5000 unauthorized plots and second homes for the homeless in the city.
He however advised Nitin Gadkari not to accept Home-Minister’s portfolio when BJP comes to power, instead choose Urban Development Portfolio which will give him an opportunity to make houses for the homeless and for developing good roads in the city. He gave him an option to take Railway Ministry if not Urban Development which will help the starting of Bullet Train from Nagpur to Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi.
After that a BJP Worker’s Diary was released. This Diary will have the record of the house to house visit, the people they have talked to, the mobile numbers and if he or she is a potential voter for BJP or not.
Devendra Fadnavis in his address to the party workers exhorted the enthusiasm of the party workers and said that the only thing remaining is for the Election Commissioner to declare the date of elections and Nitin Gadkari’s journey to winning the elections will commence. However he said that it is going to be possible only by the hard work of the party workers.
He gave the example of Aurangzeb and Shivaji Maharaj. While relating an incident, during the regime of Aurangzeb, when he was not able to win any war with Shivaji Maharaj, he asked one of the generals, why could he not win in spite of having more number of soldiers and arms, the general replied that Shivaji Maharaja my not have a big army but he has warriors who will neither bow down under pressure, nor sell himself nor will get frightened and flee the war zone. They are brave and will rather die accede defeat. Fadnavis said that it is that kind of spirit that BJP workers should possess to ensure victory in the coming elections. He warned that the coming elections are a very crucial one and the hard work done now alone will decide who will become the Prime Minister of the nation.
He took a dig at the Prime Ministerial Candidate of Congress Party Rahul Gandhi and said that a candidate who cannot answer 20 questions in an interview he recently appeared in a TV channel, and had almost the same answer for all the questions, how can the reigns of the Nation be given in his hands?
Fadnavis also went on to call the Aam Admi Party as the frogs of the rains. This newly formed party has been claiming about ethics and morals in politics joined hands the very party they have been opposing from the beginning to form a government and in becoming the Chief Minister.
Only leaders like Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari can bring about a change in the governance.
He infused enthusiasm in the party workers and said that they should be able to draw votes from the citizens of their zones and Prabhags. However this will be possible only by reaching out to every house.
He demanded only 50 days of the life of every BJP party worker for the betterment and good governance of the nation. He also explained about “One Note and One Vote”. He said that that the leaders of BJP can easily garner funds from big industrialists but then the policies that will be made will also be suitable for them. But if the people of the city donate funds then the policies also will be people centric policies. The entire exercise of visiting door to door and collecting data and funds will begin from February 11 and will last till February 18, 2014. Lakhs of voters will be reached out to and convinced of the potential change in the government. The entire exercise will end only when a victory rally is taken out and everyone dances to the tunes of Sandal.
The entire Maharashtra will stand with Nitin Gadkari. It was only through his efforts and guidance that I was bestowed with the responsibility of the State Chief of BJP.
Though many romours are rife that there is division in BJP and that leaders of BJP do not get along well with each other, this is completely false. Fadnavis said that let me put on record that all the leaders of BJP in the city, in the state and the nation are united and will continue to be united. He advised the party workers not to get affected by anyone trying to bring a rift in the party.
