Hudkeshwar police arrested a youth on Tuesday for raping an eight-year-old girl. The shameful incident took place between7 pm and 7.45 pm on Monday.
Sources said the accused Tushar Prakash Miskin (24) lured the eight-year-old girl into giving chocolates. The accused, then took the girl to nearby fields behind Self Wall School in Hudkeshwar area, and raped her mercilessly. Tushar, a resident of Pimpla village, threatened the girl of dire consequences if she narrates the incidence to anyone. He then left her near her house. The girl ran to her mother and narrated her ordeal. The mother who was shocked with the revelation gathered herself and rushed Hudkeshwar police station to lodge a complaint against the accused.
Cops swung into action and arrested Tushar before he could escape from the city. Cops have slapped charges under Sections 376 (2) (i) (a), 506 read with sub sections 3, 4, 5 (m), 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
