Nagpur News : A youth lured a city girl with promise of marriage and repeatedly raped her for three months and later refused to tie the nuptial knot with the victim. Wadi police have booked the accused under charges of rape and started their investigations.
The victim, in her statement to police, said that the accused Jackson Vinod Bhaje (28), a resident of Defence Vasahat, met the girl last year and lured her with a fake promise of marriage. The girl fell for the matrimonial proposal of the accused. The 25-year-old victim further mentioned that the accused took her to a room at Adarsh Wadi, Khadgaon and established physical relation with her for three months since May 18, 2013. When the girl asked Jackson about marriage, he started avoiding the topic.
On the basis of victim’s complaint, Wadi police have registered an offence under Sections 376 (a), 417 read with sub sections 3 (a) (XII) of The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
